Kaolin clay intake motivated by lactose ingestion in rats

چکیده
• Kaolin clay intake is a behavioral marker in rats. Ingestion of lithium chloride solution generates kaolin consumption lactose sucrose does not generate Lactose, we well as chloride, causes nausea Adult rats learn to be shy away from taste paired with the ingestion solution. This study thus aimed elucidate nature this shyness learning. Specifically, by measuring consumption, which good maker rats, attempted find out whether produces nausea. Experiment 1 demonstrated that solution, sodium cocktail, increased clay. 2A, while similarly sweet did changed it 2B. The central results Experiments 2A and 2B were replicated 3 modified procedure, suggesting induces yields conditioned aversion (i.e., palatability downshift) taste.

The mechanism of kaolin clay flocculation by a cation-independent bioflocculant produced by Chryseobacterium daeguense W6
In recent years, several novel cation-independent bioflocculants have been reported, which can avoid the secondary contamination caused by addition of cations. However, compared with cation-dependent bioflocculants, the flocculating mechanism of cation-independent bioflocculants is largely unknown. In this study, a cation-independent bioflocculant MBF-W6 produced by Chryseobacterium daeguense W...
متن کاملOptimizing of Iron Bioleaching from a Contaminated Kaolin Clay by the Use of Artificial Neural Network
In this research, the amount of Iron removal by bioleaching of a kaolin sample with high iron impurity with Aspergillus niger was optimized. In order to study the effect of initial pH, sucrose and spore concentration on iron, oxalic acid and citric acid concentration, more than twenty experiments were performed. The resulted data were utilized to train, validate and test the two layer artificia...
متن کاملChemotherapy-induced kaolin intake is increased by lesion of the lateral parabrachial nucleus of the rat.
Anticancer agents, such as cisplatin, stimulate nausea, vomiting, and behaviors indicative of malaise. Rats and mice do not possess a vomiting response, and, therefore, in these species, the ingestion of kaolin clay (a pica response) has been used as an index of malaise. In the rat, cisplatin-induced kaolin intake is inhibited by antiemetic treatments. In addition, cisplatin activates vagal aff...
متن کاملEthanol Ingestion in Rats
To determine the effects of moderate ethanol consumption on the mechanical, biochemical, and structural characteristics of the heart, myocardial mechanical performance, contractile protein enzyme activity, and the number and size of myocytes were measured in male Fischer 344 rats after the ingestion of 30%o oral ethanol. Papillary muscles removed from the left ventricle were greater in length, ...
